WILKES-BARRE – Marcello Rosado, 29, of Hughes Street, Wilkes-Barre, was arraigned Thursday on charges he assaulted two people and chased after a man with a knife.


Rosado was charged with two counts each of simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment, and one count each of aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and terroristic threats. He was jailed at the county prison for lack of $10,000 bail.


James Kuhns told police Rosado punched him several times and punched Kristen Bryan when she intervened during a dispute inside their residence on Hughes Street on Wednesday night. Kuhns claimed Rosado chased him for two blocks and threatened to kill him, according to the criminal complaint.


A preliminary hearing is scheduled on Dec. 18.


HANOVER TWP. – Kevin Hockenbury, 26, of Swoyersville, reported Thursday his vehicle's windshield was smashed while it was parked at Hanover Village apartment complex.


PLAINS TWP. – Two people were taken to a hospital after a two-vehicle crash on state Route 309 near Interstate 81 on Wednesday.


State police at Wyoming said two vehicles operated by Mark Anthony Rosa, of Honesdale, and Gail Shannon, of Pittston, collided while traveling south on Route 309 at about 5:30 p.m. The force of the impact caused Shannon's vehicle to roll over and go down an embankment, state police said.


Shannon and a passenger in her vehicle, Thomas Green, of Wilkes-Barre, were taken to Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Plains Township.


HAZLETON – City police said a 2008 Chevrolet Camaro was struck by another vehicle that drove away on 14th Street early Thursday morning.


WILKES-BARRE – City police captured an alleged fugitive while investigating a domestic disturbance at 145 N. Sherman St. on Thursday.


Police allege Jezreel Thelmon, 49, of Darby, assaulted a woman during a fight inside the residence at about 1 a.m. Thursday. A records check revealed Thelmon was wanted in Ogle County, Ill, on a charge of damage to government property that was filed in October 2009, according to the criminal complaint.


Thelmon was charged with simple assault, harassment and fugitive from justice. He was jailed at the county prison for lack of $3,000 bail.
