PLAINS TWP. – The Hudson Servicemen's Club on Martin Street was burglarized sometime overnight Friday into Saturday, police said. Removed from inside the club were a Megatouch tabletop video game machine and a compact wall-mounted jukebox, according to police. Police are investigating and request anyone with information to contact them at 829-3432.

WILKES-BARRE - Police arrested two people early Friday morning on outstanding warrants and transported them to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility.

Wendi Konopke, 24, no address available, was taken into custody around 12:40 a.m. on Carey Avenue. Tahij Johnson, 29, no address available, was taken into custody around 1:50 a.m. on Blackman Street.

WILKES-BARRE – Police said Steven J. Harris, 28, no address available, was charged with driving under the influence and criminal trespass after responding to a call of a man attempting to break into a residence on Bowman Street early Friday morning.

Police said Harris matched the description of the suspect and was attempting to leave the area in a motor vehicle around 2:50 a.m. Harris was taken into custody.

WILKES-BARRE – A man wanted on attempted homicide, rape and other charges was taken into custody Friday night after a traffic stop on Hazle Avenue, police said.

Moosic police contacted city police and requested assistance in apprehending Charles Bray, 42, no address available, city police said. Members of the patrol division, emergency services unit and Moosic police arrested Bray without incident around 5:45 p.m., police said. Bray was turned over to Moosic police.

HAZLE TWP. – State police Saturday afternoon said a 20-year-old Butler Township man who caused a three-vehicle crash on Airport Road at the entrance to the Laurel Mall was in possession of heroin and blood samples from him were taken for testing.

Richard Biesadesky, who was not wearing a seat belt, was unresponsive and flown by helicopter to Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, state police said.

He was listed in stable condition.

State police said Biesadesky was driving a 2010 Jeep Compass, accelerated out of the mall parking lot around 4 p.m. and failed to negotiate a right turn, striking a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee about to turn left into the lot. The Grand Cherokee driven by Nidia Martinez, 18, of Hazleton, spun around and struck a 1996 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera that was in the right lane. The Jeep Compass also struck the Oldsmobile driven by Jon Stancu, 23, of Hazleton.

Stancu was wearing a seat belt and was not injured, state police said.

Martinez and her passenger, Fernandez Diaz, 17, of Hazleton, were wearing seat belts and suffered minor injuries. They were taken by ambulance to Hazleton General Hospital, state police said.

HAZLE TWP. – Sarah Eckert, 21, of Newport Township, reported her cell phone was stolen Saturday afternoon after she inadvertently left it in the ladies room of the Jumbo China Buffet in the Church Hill Mall on state Route 309, state police said.
