HAZLE TWP. – State police on Sunday said a woman's daughter alerted them to marijuana plants being grown in an upstairs bedroom of their residence on North Church Street.
State police filed drug-related charges against Mary Cook, 47, and her boyfriend, Anthony Gentile, 54.
State police responded to a domestic dispute at the residence around 12:20 p.m. and Cook's daughter said her mother and Gentile had been drinking and arguing. When state police told the daughter no crime had been committed she told them about the marijuana plants. State police said an upstairs closet had been transformed into a grow room and they seized another marijuana plant and grow operation instruments.
State police also said Cook had a protection from abuse order against Gentile.
Gentile was arrested for the alleged PFA violation. He and Cook were charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to deliver marijuana, possession with intent to deliver marijuana and related drug charges, state police said.
