WILKES-BARRE – City police on Monday released the name of the man who was shot in the neck inside an apartment building on South Grant Street.


Police said Justin Coletta, no age or address provided, was shot just before 7:30 p.m. Sunday. He was found sitting on a couch inside an apartment and taken to Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Plains Township.


Witnesses told police three men were seen talking to Coletta in a hallway before the shooting.


The investigation is continuing.


WILKES-BARRE – A man residing at 60 N. Sherman St. reported Monday his residence was ransacked and a rear door window smashed.


FREELAND – State police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement reported Chunkie Charlie's CafĂ©, doing business as the Clover Bar, 400 Ridge St., was recently cited with possessing or operating gambling devices or permitted gambling or lotteries.


WILKES-BARRE TWP. – Township police reported the following:


• An employee of Spencer Gifts in the Wyoming Valley Mall reported to police Thursday that an unknown person passed a counterfeit $100 bill at the store.


• Shirley Sobeleski reported to police Friday that someone stole her wallet while she was at TJ Maxx, 461 Arena Hub Plaza.


• Billy Nipper, 34, of Exeter, was cited with public drunkenness after an incident in the parking lot of Big Lots at East End Centre on Friday afternoon, police said.


• An employee at Bed, Bath & Beyond reported at 5:32 p.m. Friday that someone stole a coffee maker valued at $199 and fled the store.


• Police arrested a 13-year-old girl from Wilkes-Barre for allegedly shoplifting $10.50 worth of jewelry at Claire's at the Wyoming Valley Mall on Friday afternoon.


• An employee at best Buy in the Arena Hub Plaza reported at 8:47 p.m. Saturday that a male stole a video camera valued at $400 and fled the store.


• Chaun Bao reported on Sunday morning that someone slashed the four tires on his company van and personal vehicle while they were parked on Indian Creek Drive in Wilkeswood Apartments.


• Sherry Shannon reported at 11:51 p.m. Sunday that someone had stolen her debit card while she was at Best Buy and used it to purchase merchandise valued at $285.


• Janice Knorr reported at 12:50 p.m. Sunday that someone stole her purse while she was in Haystacks. Estimated value of the theft was $600.


• Brandy Jones reported at 3:15 p.m. Sunday that someone stole her wallet while she was at Walmart at Wilkes-Barre Township Marketplace. Estimated value of the theft was $6.


WILKES-BARRE – Enterprise Rent-a-Car, 408 Kidder St., reported that a catalytic converter was cut and removed from a vehicle sometime between 6 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. Friday.


HAZLE TWP. – State Police reported Aimee M. Devers, 32, of Coaldale, lost control of her vehicle while traveling north on North Park Drive and struck a vehicle driven by Walter M. Trela of Kelayres at 6:23 p.m. Friday. No injuries were reported.


Devers was cited for driving at an unsafe speed and driving with a suspended license, state police said.


FOSTER TWP. – State police said Kimberly Brown, 19, of West Orange, N.J., lost control of her vehicle while traveling east on Interstate 80 near mile marker 269, traveling off the south shoulder and impacting several trees on the side of the highway.


State police said Brown sustained minor injuries and was transported to Hazleton General Hospital for treatment.


A passenger in the vehicle was not injured.


Brown was charged with driving at an unsafe speed and lane violations, according to state police.


HANOVER TWP. – Police are investigating multiple break-ins Sunday to vehicles parked in the lot of the China House Buffet on Carey Avenue.


The driver's and passenger's side windows were smashed and stereo equipment, a Nike gym bag containing personal identification and money were stolen.


Anyone with information about the vehicle break-ins is asked to contact Hanover Township police at 570 825-1254.
