BENTON TWP. – State police at Dunmore are seeking help from the public to identify and locate a man suspected of theft of money from vending machines.
Video surveillance caught the man, who was assisted by one or more others, breaking into and stealing an undetermined amount of cash from machines at the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation rest stop on Interstate 81 in Benton Township between 3:45 and 4 a.m. Monday.
State police said vending machines at rest stops in Nuangola, Luzerne County; Great Bend, Susquehanna County; and Monroe County also were hit recently. Anyone with information should call police at 570-963-3156.
HANOVER TWP. – State police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement reported the following:
• Enforcement statistics for December: complaints received, 70; visits to licensed establishments, 211; administrative citations, 14; warnings, 16.
• Lucky Dogs Inc., 209 E. Main St., Plymouth, was cited with failing to clean malt or brewed beverage dispensing system at least once every seven days.
HANOVER TWP. – John May of Hunlock Township reported a house on Tomko Avenue was burglarized. May is remodeling the house and has reported copper tubing, wiring, windows, a well tank and pump have been stolen in recent weeks.
