EDWARDSVILLE – A Hanover Township woman was driving with a suspended license when she allegedly struck another woman on Route 11 on Nov. 25, according to charges filed on Wednesday.
Heather Annmarie Bush, 32, of Mary Street, was arraigned by District Judge Paul Roberts on charges of accidents involving injury to another person and driving with a suspended license. She was released on $15,000 unsecured bail.
According to the criminal complaint:
Bush was driving a 2001 Dodge when she allegedly struck Tanitia Velazquez on Route 11 in front of Wendy's Restaurant. Velazquez suffered head and arm injuries. She was treated at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Plains Township.
The complaint alleges Bush was driving with a suspended driver's license.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled on Feb. 14.
WILKES-BARRE – City police reported the following:
• Police said a wallet containing several credit cards, an 18-karat gold Marine Corps ring and several bottles of alcohol were stolen from a residence in the 400 block of South River Street on Tuesday.
• Police said a wallet, jewelry, money and an iPod Touch were stolen during a burglary at a residence on East South Street on Tuesday.
• An infrared heater delivered by UPS was stolen from the porch at 34 S. Hancock St. on Jan. 18.
• An unknown man stole a Sony stereo and a Kenwood stereo from Pep Boys on Wilkes-Barre Township Boulevard on Tuesday.
PLAINS TWP. – Andrew Kosmach of East Merritt Street reported a Snap-On Mig welder, two airgas oxygen tanks, power tools, fishing rods and reels were stolen during a burglary at a garage Sunday night into Monday morning.
HANOVER TWP. – Gerard R. Jenkins, 29, of West Ridge Street, Nanticoke, and Brooklyn, N.Y., was arraigned Wednesday on charges he sold heroin on Dexter Street.
Jenkins was charged with two counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, and one count each of possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of communication facility. He was jailed at the county prison for lack of $15,000 bail.
The Luzerne County Drug Task Force alleges Jenkins, known as G, sold heroin on Dexter Street on April 1, 2012, according to the criminal complaint. Jenkins was apprehended during a traffic stop by Courtdale police on Tuesday.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled on Feb. 5.
FORTY FORT – Robin Anne Guerrero, 42, of Hughes Street, Swoyersville, was arraigned Wednesday on charges of receiving stolen property and retail theft in connection with the theft of lobster tails and crab meat from Maine Source on Jan. 15.
Guerrero was jailed at the county prison for lack of $2,500 bail.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled on Feb. 7.
NANTICOKE – Dirk Michael Esser, 53, of East Ridge Street, was arraigned Wednesday on charges he assaulted a woman inside his residence early Wednesday morning.
Esser was charged with simple assault and harassment. He was jailed at the county prison for lack of $2,500 bail.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled on Feb. 6.
COURTDALE – A Nanticoke man was arraigned Wednesday on charges he was driving a stolen vehicle.
Alonzo Eric McClinton, 30, of College Street, was charged with receiving stolen property, driving with a suspended license and speeding. He was jailed at the county prison for lack of $1,000 bail.
Police said they stopped McClinton for driving 41 mph in a 25 mph zone on Courtdale Avenue on Tuesday night. The vehicle was reported as stolen to the Scranton Police Department, police said.
A passenger in the vehicle, Gerard Jenkins, was found to be wanted on drug charges, police said.
