I'll reserve fuller comment for later, but I can't just let this go without a quick note. Gov. Tom Corbett says we should privatize liquor sales in Pennsylvania so he can put the expected $1 billion bonanza from the move into education.
Aside from doing this after his huge cuts in ed spending in his first year, why make a direct tie between booze and learning. It is a cross-purpose ploy if ever there was one. Kid, I'm killing my brain cells so you can build up yours.
There are a lot of good reasons to privatize liquor sales - if it makes Kummel for Christmas Eve boilo more readily availble, I'm for it. But privatizing so we can fund our schools?
