The pre-kindergarten class at Wilkes-Barre Academy recently received a visit from Sam Fox, a Wilkes-Barre firefighter. Fox did a hands-on lesson in fire safety. The class discussed ways to prevent fires, stop-drop-and-roll, calling 911 and the importance of having an evacuation plan. Fox dressed in full gear to show how firemen look when responding to a fire. Participants, from left, first row, are Ava Ciliberto, Patrick Ruane, Quron Drayton, Isaiah Parker, Baylee Blendick, Brody Grymko, Lucy Ruch, Kate Barth, Hanna Fox and Niko Francisco. Second row: Debbie Cooper, teacher; Izzie, class mascot; and Fox.
