Redeemer loses to Wyomissing in playoff hole in Class 2A state championship

YORK – Holy Redeemer fell to Wyomissing by two strokes in a playoff hole for the PIAA Class 2A state golf team championship Wednesday at Heritage Hills Golf Resort.

The top-four players on each team golfed in a one-hole playoff after being tied 321-321 after regulation. Mariano Medico led Redeemer and the hole field in both Class 2A and 3A with a 68 after regulation.

Sam Gallen of Wyomissing sank a 97-foot approach shot to birdie the playoff hole, the par-4 No. 18 hole.
