Redeemerā??s Medico medals at state golf

Holy Redeemer junior Mariano Medico finished his second round at the PIAA Class 2A golf Championships with a fifth-place medal.

The Royal carded a 6-over par 77 on Tuesday at the Heritage Hills Golf Resort and ended with a two-day total of 8-over on a course in windy, brisk and soggy conditions.

Medico began the day in third place just one shot off the lead. He struggled on the front nine shooting 5-over par 41, but rebounded on the back nine for the second day in a row netting a pair of birdies and two bogeys to end the last nine holes with a 1-over par 36.
