Retiring Wilkes professor great adviser to student

I would like to thank professor Bradford Kinney who is retiring at the end of the semester after 39 years of teaching at Wilkes University. He is the founding father of the Communication Studies Department and has touched so many students' lives over the years. I am no exception.

I remember showing up for my freshman orientation and meeting him for the first time. He reminded me right away of my eccentric grandfather who always looked out for me. When he figured out that I was only registered for one class that first semester, he helped me through the first wave of panic that I had in starting college. This wouldn't be the last time either.

Whenever I had a problem over the two and a half years that he was my adviser, he was always there guiding me. We would spend so much time in his office strategizing the best way to tackle any obstacle that presented a problem for our united conquering force. With his guidance I succeeded in several conflicts that I never thought I could handle by myself.

He will be missed not only by the campus community, but also by the countless individuals that he touched personally.

Thank you, Dr. Kinney.
