WILKES-BARRE- Chris Shovlin recorded a double-double scoring 36 points and pulling down 12 boards to lead Wilkes' men's basketball team to a 99-89 victory over Berkeley College Tuesday.

Bernard Edmonds added 19 points and eight rebounds, while Jeremy Hartman chipped in a career-high 17 points.

Men's Soccer Misericordia

Senior forward Andy Bush earned a selection to the ECAC South Division III All-Star team after leading the Freedom Conference in scoring with 33 points. He also led the league with five game-winning goals. His efforts also earned him Freedom Conference Player of the Year.

Women's Soccer Misericordia

Sam Helmstetter, Lauren Roney, Nikki Hensel and Erin Roberts earned spots on the ECAC South Division III All-Star team, while Maureen Ciccosanti won Rookie of the Year honors. Helmstetter tallied 45 points on 18 goals and nine assists this season. Roney finished the season with 39 points and 14 goals.

In her first season, Ciccosanti set school records for wins, shutouts and goals against average.

Volleyball Misericordia

Cailin McCullion earned a spot on the CoSida Capital One Academic All-America team. She led Misericordia with 318 kills, which ranked fourth in the Freedom Conference.


After three seasons with King's College, Alicia Orlowski stepped down as the Lady Monarchs head volleyball coach after giving birth to her second child.

Hazleton Area 4, Columbia Montour 0

Jamie Kulaga recorded the high series of 585 and a high game of 234 to lead the Cougars shutout. Alyssa Balicki chipped in a 553 series, while Kelly Maloney added a 468 series.

Dave Shutovich led the Cougars with a high game of 254 and a series of 722.

Anthony Sidari added a high game of 246 and a 685 series, while Stephen LaBuda chipped in a high game of 239 and a 674 series.

The only points the Tigers gave up were via forfeits and they picked up pins by Alan Diltz (106), Zain Retherford (138), Colt Cotten (145), Dominic Vitale (152) and Brandon Lotz (160).
