BEAR CREEK TWP. -- A snow-plowing agreement between two municipalities will have to wait for more information, township supervisors decided Monday.

The township and Bear Creek Village Borough agree that the township will take responsibility for plowing the Twinbrook cul de sac, a small section of road physically located in the borough but accessible only by way of a township road, Solicitor William Vinsko said. But questions arose as to whether the sections of road leading to the cul de sac were ever dedicated to either municipality after the subdivision was created.

Supervisors decided to table action on the deal that would have had the borough pay the township to plow the cul de sac until the dedication issue is resolved. Supervisors also asked Vinsko to seek a letter from the borough's engineer stating the rocks bordering the end of the cul de sac are sufficient to provide a safety barrier and no guard rail is needed.

In other business, the supervisors accepted the lowest bidder for fuel oil from Button Oil at 3.319 per gallon, from January 1 through April 30, 2013. The bid was a joint effort between the township, the Bear Creek Charter School and the Bear Creek Foundation, and represents a .13 per gallon decrease over the previous price, supervisors said.

The board also announced that Fred Pape will be the new zoning officer, and that written applications will be accepted for a vacant spot on the planning board.
