Lindsay Margaret Smith and John Michael Stavish, together with their families, are happy to announce their engagement and upcoming marriage.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Bill and Anne Marie Smith, Plains Township. She is the granddaughter of Judy Smith, Wilkes-Barre; the late William Smith; and the late Dominic and Carmella Altavilla.
The prospective groom is the son of Raymond and Joanie Stavish, Sugar Notch. He is the grandson of Ada Kresge, Mountain Top; the late Edward Kresge; and the late Raymond and Theresa Stavish.
Lindsay is a 2005 graduate of James M. Coughlin High School. She earned her bachelor's degree in biology, with minors in chemistry and English, from Misericordia University in 2009. She earned her master's degree in physician assistant studies from King's College in 2012. She is employed as a physician assistant at Dallas Family Practice, Dallas.
John is a 2001 graduate of Hanover Area High School. He earned his bachelor's degree in administration of justice from Penn State University in 2007. He is employed by Kellogg's as a market manager.
The couple will exchange vows on May 11, 2013, in St. Mary's of the Immaculate Conception, Wilkes-Barre, followed by a reception at the Irem Country Club, Dallas. After their honeymoon, the couple will reside in Shavertown.
