WILKES-BARRE - A state Superior Court panel denied the request of Hugo Selenski to reconsider its order to expedite the appeal of his double homicide case in Luzerne County Court.
A three-member panel of the court ruled against Selenski today who said he was not given the opportunity to be heard before the court issued its ruling on Monday.
Prosecutors asked the court to speed up the appeal made by Selenski's attorneys of a decision by Luzerne County Judge Fred Pierantoni to go ahead with the trial scheduled for Sept. 10.
In their request prosecutors said Selenski filed the appeal in order to delay his trial in the deaths of Tammy Fassett and Michael Kerkowski.
