SWOYERSVILLE – Borough Council passed its 2013 budget on Thursday night with no tax increase.
Property taxes will remain at 1.45 mills. A mill is $1 of tax on every $1,000 of assessed property value.
The budget reflects total revenues of about $1.5 million; general fund of $962,356, sewer assessment $105,545, government expenditure $180,850, and police expenditures $459,834.
As a council member, I am thrilled that we have managed to pass the 2013 budget with no tax increase and no fee increases. It is an honor to vote 'yes' on this budget, said Councilman Christopher Concert.
We are especially proud that we consistently maintain excellent services to borough residents, said Councilman Joe Olenjnick.
