The Wilkes-Barre Verizon Telecom Pioneers 7 recently presented prizes for the school-wide behavior program and glue sticks to teachers at the Hanover Green Elementary School. Students visit the school store weekly and pick an item as a reward for good behavior. Funds for the projects are made possible through a grant from the Verizon Foundation. The Telecom Pioneers is a nonprofit organization of retired and active members of Verizon Communications. At the presentation, from left: Rosemary Gawat, Pioneer; Mrs. Shipula, Mrs. Ramagli and Mrs. Kayrish, kindergarten teachers, Hanover Green Elementary; and Nancy Karpovich, president, Wilkes-Barre Telecom Pioneers.
