Mr. and Mrs. Michael Fera Jr., Plymouth, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Oct. 18. They were married in 1952 at St. Mary's Church, Plymouth, by the Rev. Valentine Plevyak.
Mr. and Mrs. Fera are the parents of two daughters, Tina Endress, Kingston, and Cheryl Akulonis, Nanticoke.
They are the grandparents of Robyn Menzel, Conshohocken; Jennifer Bowden and husband, Greg, Collegeville; and Ryan Kucewicz and Mikayla Akulonis, Nanticoke.
They are the great-grandparents of Genevieve Bowden, eight months old, their pride and joy.
Michael is the son of the late Michael and Anna Fera, Plymouth. He worked for many years at Golden Quality Ice Cream and Air Products and retired from Moon Lake Park. He likes to talk about politics and joke with his friends and family. He serves on the Luzerne County Planning Commission and is an avid gardener.
Genevieve is the daughter of the late Martin and Victoria Mrugal, Plymouth. She is known as the Betty Crocker of the family because she has a gift for cooking and baking. Some of her specialties include kluski, haluski, piggies, Jimmy Carter cake, strawberry cobbler and ice cream cake. She also loves finding a good deal and going shopping with her daughter, Cheryl.
To celebrate this milestone, Mr. and Mrs. Fera were surprised by 60 family members at a party in their honor at The Shawnee Room, Plymouth.
