The Coaches: Tunkhannock's Rod Azar (2-11, 2nd year); Pittston Area's Mike Barrett (3-10, 2nd year)
Last Meeting: Pittston Area 45-6 in 2011
All-Time Series: Pittston Area leads 18-13-1
Quick Fact: The teams have alternated wins in the last six meetings.
Scouting Tunkhannock: The Tigers picked up a 28-18 win last Friday against Montrose, which has now lost 31 consecutive games – the longest streak in District 2.
RB Josh Robinson rushed 14 times for 90 yards, the best effort by a Tigers back this season. QB Brian Beauchemin completed only two passes, but they were for long touchdowns to P.J. Dietz and Brett Stage.
Scouting Pittston Area: Since opening 2011 by defeating Tunkhannock and Scranton, Pittston Area has lost 10 of its last 11. Several of those games were close to the end, including last Saturday's 14-12 loss to Crestwood where the Patriots couldn't get a tying two-point conversion with 1:07 to play.
The defense was solid, but the offense never found a rhythm. The Patriots labored to rush for 115 yards. QB James Emmett was knocked out late with a knee injury. WR Joe Starinsky had six catches.
What To Expect: The lights to work tonight and the Patriots to break into the win column.
