Attention moviemakers: The Scranton Cultural Center at the Masonic Temple is hosting a contest you can really sink your teeth into. They are looking for short vampire videos. The three to five -minute video must have a general theme of Dracula and/or vampires.
The Vampire video contest is part of Virst Vriday: Vhat is a Vampire? Virst Vriday is presented by the Cultural Center, Everhart Museum and Lackawanna County Library System. The collaboration is inspired by the upcoming Everhart Museum Exhibit, Blood is the Life: Vampires in Art and Nature. On Feb. 1, the Scranton Cultural Center will host Virst Vriday as part of the free First Friday trail.
The museum and Library System seek drawing or mixed media pieces that illustrate the best interpretation of vampires . Winners of the video/visual contests will receive a one-year individual membership to the Everhart Museum and tickets to the March 12 film lecture entitled How to Produce an Independent Film with No Budget presented by JVW Inc. and the Cultural Center. For details, visit www.scrantonculturalcenter.org/virst-vriday-contest. All submissions are due no later than Jan. 24. No late submissions .
