• No. 4 seed Jon Lagoski, Wyoming Valley West knocked off No. 1 A.J. Luton from GAR, 5-0 in the 120-pound semifinals.
• No. 6 seed Logan Brace, from Dallas defeated second-seeded Jamaar Taylor from GAR, via fall 3:59 in the 160-pound semifinals.
• Pittston Area's Jake Vaxmonsky, a No. 6 seed, beat defending champion and second-seeded Taylor Schermerhorn in the 220-pound semifinals, 6-2. He then went on to knock off top-seeded Zac Faust from GAR, 9-8 in the finals.
The 195-pound final when Tunkhannock's Andrew Muckin defeated Pittston Area's John Minich with a 9-8 victory at the buzzer. Muckin held a 7-3 lead midway through the third period before Minich managed a takedown and three back points to take an 8-7 lead. After trying to escape and not being able to, the Tunkhannock senior was awarded two points for a reversal and got Minich on his back as time expired.
Every time he steps on the mat he brings it. Jake has an unbelievable gas tank.
