Last Modified: March 16. 2013 9:24PM
A winter storm warning remains in effect through Saturday morning.
Light snow and flurries are expected during the morning hours.
Snowfall from two storm systems that are expected to merge will begin later this afternoon and become heavy at times, up to one inch per hour tonight, according to a Friday morning weather briefing by the National Weather Service in Binghamton, N.Y.
Snow is expected to diminish later tonight as the wind will increase to 10-15 mph with gusts 25-35 mph into Saturday. Blowing and drifting snow will continue to be a hazard, and hazardous travel due to low visibility and snow covered roads are expected.
