The Rotary of Wilkes-Barre recently donated $5,004 to the Osterhout Free Library. The funds were raised from the 28th annual George Ralston Golf Classic held on Sept. 7 at Mill Race Golf Course, Benton. The donation will benefit children's programs held throughout the year at the Osterhout Library and its three branches. The golf classic is named in honor of the late George Ralston, a Rotarian who spent 50 years at Wilkes University as a teacher, dean of students and a football, basketball and baseball coach. The co-chairs for the golf classic were Robert Lawrence and Kim Cardone. Drew Speier, WBRE-TV anchor, was the honorary chairperson. At the check presentation, from left: Chris Kelly, development director, Osterhout Library; Elaine Rash, youth services coordinator, Osterhout Library; Cardone; John Stachacz, president, Rotary of Wilkes-Barre; and Lawrence.
