Wilkes professor named PA Pharmacist of the Year

WILKES-BARRE -- Adam Welch, associate professor of pharmacy at Wilkes University, was recently named the 2012 Pharmacist of the Year by the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association.
Welch, of Mountain Top, was honored with the award during the association's 2012 Annual Conference in Scranton recently.

The Pharmacist of the Year award is presented to the pharmacist who has demonstrated dedication to the profession, contributed time and effort to the various professional organizations, furthered the profession of pharmacy through community service, and embodied those qualities, which exemplify the profession.

In presenting Welch with the award, the association noted his passion for his profession and the state of pharmacy practice within Pennsylvania.
??His desire for the betterment of Pennsylvania pharmacists above his own personal goals and ambitions are an inspiration to his colleagues and his students,? the association stated.

Founded in 1878, the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association is a professional membership organization of more than 2,000 pharmacists and pharmacy students across Pennsylvania, representing almost all facets of pharmacy practice.
