MILWAUKEE (AP) — Police say a Wisconsin man who killed his wife and two other women at a Milwaukee-area spa bought the gun used in the shooting spree two days after a court ordered him to turn in all firearms.

Forty-five-year-old Radcliffe F. Haughton was ordered to turn in all weapons during a hearing in which his estranged wife obtained a four-year restraining order.

Forty-two-year-old Zina Haughton told the court her husband had been terrorizing her for years.

Haughton also was involved in a 90-minute standoff with police officers responding to a 911 call from his wife last year. Police officers who responded thought they saw Haughton point a gun at his wife.

But police now say they never confirmed a weapon was present.
