Wisconsin women upset seventh-ranked Penn State

MADISON, Wis. — Morgan Paige scored a career-high 33 points to lead Wisconsin to a 63-61 upset over seventh-ranked Penn State on Thursday night.


Tiera Stephens scored the game-winner on a putback with 5 seconds left to end the Nittany Lions' 12-game winning streak.


Stephens scored five points and had 11 rebounds and Jacki Gulczynski added 16 for Wisconsin (10-11, 2-6 Big Ten). The victory against a ranked opponent was the Badgers' first since a 48-45 win against Michigan State on January 14, 2010.



Duke 82, Miami 43

DURHAM, N.C. — Tricia Liston scored 17 points, Chelsea Gray added 16 and No. 5 Duke used a huge run early in the second half to rout Miami 82-43 on Thursday night.




Tennessee 88, Mississippi State 45

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Kamiko Williams scored 10 points and grabbed a career-high 13 rebounds in her first start of the season Thursday as No. 9 Tennessee routed Mississippi State 88-45 for its 10th win in its last 11 games.


Williams started in place of injured center Isabelle Harrison, who will undergo surgery Friday on her left knee. The senior guard had six assists and six steals to go along with her double-double.



North Carolina 72, Florida State 62.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Xylina McDaniel scored 19 points and Waltiea Rolle added 18 and 10 rebounds as No. 11 North Carolina held off No. 20 Florida State, giving coach Sylvia Hatchell her 899th win.



Georgia 65, Alabama 59

ATHENS, Ga. — Khaalidah Miller scored 11 points off the bench as No. 13 Georgia held off Alabama in Southeastern Conference action.



Purdue 59, Indiana 42

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Sam Ostarello had 14 points and 10 rebounds to lead No. 14 Purdue to a win over Indiana.


Texas A&M 60, Vanderbilt 52

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Courtney Walker scored 20 points to lead No. 16 Texas A&M to a victory over Vanderbilt.



Illinois 74, Iowa 62

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Karisma Penn scored 18 points, Adrienne GodBold and Amber Moore added 17 apiece, and Illinois closed with a 14-2 run over the final 5:11 to knock off No. 24 Iowa.



Delaware 70, Georgia St. 38

ATLANTA — Elena Delle Donne scored 25 points and No. 25 Delaware won its 12th consecutive game, defeating Georgia State.



MEN Michigan St. 80, Illinois 75

EAST LANSING, Mich. — Keith Appling led a pivotal run early in the second half and finished with 24 points and seven assists to help No. 13 Michigan State beat Illinois.


The Spartans (18-4, 7-2 Big Ten) scored the first 14 points of the second half to take their first lead.



Iowa 76, Penn State 67

IOWA CITY, Iowa — Aaron White had a career-high 27 points and Iowa beat Penn State, snapping a two-game losing streak.
