Tracey Schraner and her children Elizabeth and Amelia love to travel and have gone on vacation together on two cruises and to Disney World in Florida four times.
Elizabeth, 8, said one of her favorite vacation memories is playing on the waterslide on a cruise ship. Amelia, 5, said her favorite is when her older sister Kasey swings her in the waves in the ocean.
Both girls attend John G. Whittier School in Scranton. Elizabeth said she wants to be a beauty salon and spa owner when she grows up, and Amelia said she would like to be a teacher, just like her favorite person, Mrs. King, her kindergarten teacher.
When Elizabeth and Amelia's mother was a child, she wanted to be a travel agent when she grew up.
I always wanted to be like my cousin, Carol Kane, she said, who was a travel agent in Long Island, N.Y. and the most glamorous person I have ever known.
The only profession I have ever wanted to be in is the travel industry, she continued. I loved airports, bus stations and hotel lobbies.
Now, Schraner has her dream job. She is a travel consultant at Abington Travel in Clarks Summit.
At work, she helps people plan their vacations and trips by finding hotels for them, booking their airplane fights and taking care of their special needs and wants.
