2 p.m. Saturday
The Coaches: Wyoming Area's Randy Spencer (24-24, 5th year); Redeemer's Pat Reece (1-4, 1st year)
Last Meeting: Wyoming Area 44-12 in 2011
All-Time Series: Wyoming Area leads 3-0
Quick Fact: Wyoming Area has scored at least 42 points in each meeting.
Scouting Wyoming Area: The Warriors were in a tussle at halftime with Nanticoke last Friday, leading 14-7 at the break. They then got a long TD run from QB Nick O'Brien, who went over 4,000 yards for his career, and another from Cody Schmitz. Schmitz also had a two other TDs and has become a versatile weapon.
The secondary must be on its toes tonight. The unit has seen only 29 passes the last three weeks and Redeemer will easily surpass that amount. As a whole, the defense allows just 192.6 yards per game.
Scouting Redeemer: The Royals kept it close for a quarter vs. GAR last Saturday before falling hard 65-28. GAR had the game well in hand when Redeemer scored its final three touchdowns.
QB Jimmy Strickland threw for 302 yards and four TDs, both career highs. WR Eric Kerr leads the WVC with 35 catches and is part of a deep receiving corps. The rush offense, though, has gone dormant after showing some promise.
What To Expect: A game a bit like Redeemer's matchup with GAR. It might take Wyoming Area a little time to get going, especially on a Saturday afternoon, but it should cruise to a win.
