Sarah Greenwald and Jonathan Abraham were married on Labor Day Weekend, Sept. 4, 2016, on Nantucket Island. Sarah was the fourth Greenwald sister to be married on the island. The weekend festivities were kicked off by a beach party for family and friends and was hosted by Jon’s parents, Richard and Judy Abraham; and Sarah’s uncle and aunt, Bruce and Melissa Saidman. Sand and sun cooperated, complimented by fun and much food.

A rehearsal dinner was held at Bartlett’s Farm and hosted by Sarah’s parents, Carol and David Greenwald. It was a glorious evening.

Sarah and Jon chose Labor Day weekend because, to them, the ocean and beach are essential to any time spent in Nantucket. Tropical Storm Hermine prevented the ceremony from taking place on the beach. Instead, Sarah and Jon were married near the beach at The White Elephant Resorts. Cantor Ahron Abraham officiated.

The wedding was truly a family affair. Sarah’s sisters, Naomi Bergeron, Hannah Ross and Rachel Skaistis, along with sister-in-law, Paula Kaufman, were her attendants. Jon’s sons, Jake, Liam and Joshua, along with Jon’s twin brother, Joseph, and brother-in-law, Adam Kaufman, were groomsmen, as were Sarah’s brothers, Nathaniel and Zachary Greenwald. Nieces and nephews of the bride and groom were in abundance. Talia and Delilah Skaistis, Marlowe Ross and Josalie Kaufman functioned as junior bridesmaids and flower girls. Levi Skaistis, Max and Ahron Kaufman were junior groomsmen and Kol Ross was the ring bearer.

Dinner and dancing, held at Carol and David’s home on Surfside Beach, completed the magical weekend. The weather did not cooperate on Monday and many guests were stranded on the island until Tuesday.

Sarah is the daughter of Dr. David and Carol Greenwald of Kingston and Jon is the son of Dr. Richard and Judy Abraham of Canton, Connecticut. Jon graduated from Bucknell University and Fordham Law School. He is a real estate attorney in Tarrytown, New York. Sarah graduated from Clark University, New York University School of Nursing and received her master’s degree at Pace University. She is a nurse practitioner at Monte Nido Associates in Irvington, New York, and the Clementine Adolescent Residence in Briarcliff Manor.

Sarah and Jon and their 3 sons, Liam, Jake and Josh, reside in Tarrytown, New York.
