Anthony Chianese and Carissa Lushefski were united in the sacrament of matrimony Nov. 5, 2016 by Father James Nash at Saint Faustina Parish, Nanticoke.
The bride is the daughter of Joseph and Catherine Lushefski, Nanticoke; the granddaughter of George and Rose Madl, Mary Lushefski, and the late Joseph Lushefski Jr.
The groom is the son of James and Barbara Chianese of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts; the grandson of Alfred Smith, the late Sheila Smith, and the late James and Bernice Chianese.
The bride was given in marriage by her father, Joseph. The bride chose her sister, Shamion Alger, as her matron-of-honor. Bridesmaids included her two sisters, Kelcie and Keri Lushefski, two sisters of the groom, Heather Dorrie and Jessica Chianese, along with her best friend, Shamion Hylton. The bride chose her cousin, Kathryn Moran, as ﬂower girl.
The groom chose his uncle, Shawn Smith as his best man. Groomsmen included his brothers Michael and Dominic Chianese, brother-in-law of the bride, Dean Alger, friends Jeff Delgado, Joe Prednis and Drew Hylton. The groom’s nephew, Joshua Delgado, was ring bearer.
The ﬁrst scriptural reading was read by the sister of the bride, Keri Lushefski and the second reading was read by the groom’s father, James Chianese. The offertory gifts were presented by Kelcie and Keri Lushefski, sisters of the bride.
The bride was honored at a bridal shower given by her mother and matron of honor at Genetti Hotel and Conference Center, Wilkes Barre. A wedding rehearsal dinner was hosted by the parents of the bride at R Bar, Alden. An evening cocktail hour and reception were held at the Terrace Ball Room, West Nanticoke.
The bride is a 2010 graduate of Greater Nanticoke Area. She received her Pharmacy Technician Certiﬁcation at LCCC in 2010. She is currently working as a pharmacy technician in Kingston.
The groom is a 2011 graduate of Pleasant Valley High School, Brodheadsville. He is currently pursuing his HVAC certiﬁcation.
The couple celebrated with a honeymoon at Cove Haven Resort.
