Rachael Richards and Johnny Glowaniak were united in the sacrament of marriage Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016, in Holy Family Church, Sugar Notch, by the Rev. Joseph Kakareka.
The bride is the daughter of Robert and Evangeline Richards, of Nanticoke. She is the granddaughter of Theresa Richards and the late David Richards, Wilkes-Barre, and the late Victoria and Joseph Janusziewicz, Plymouth.
The groom is the son of John and Sandy Glowaniak, of Nanticoke. He is the grandson of Antoinette and John Glowaniak, Nanticoke, and the late Ruth and Leonard Grodzicki, Nanticoke.
The bride was given away in marriage by her father. She chose her friend, Lauren Owazany, as her maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Melissa Cooper and Meghan Turner, friends of the bride; Marissa Charney and Rebecca Charney, cousins of the bride; and Gaby Osmanski, cousin of the groom.
The groom chose his friend and advocate, Michael Wasenda, as his best man. Groomsmen were Michael Miller, Adam Scali, and Joshua Manley, friends of the groom; Robert Richards and Paul Richards, brothers of the bride.
Readings were given by Mary Jo Charney, aunt and godmother of the bride; and Christine Osmanski, aunt and godmother of the groom. The bride’s aunt Darice Janusziewicz provided musical services during the mass.
A bridal shower was hosted by the mother of the bride and her bridesmaids at The Plymouth American Legion. The parents of the groom hosted the rehearsal dinner at The R bar, Nanticoke.
The bride is a 2009 graduate of Greater Nanticoke Area High School and received a doctoral degree in physical therapy from Misericordia University in 2015. She is employed by Genesis Rehabilitation in Hazelton.
The groom is a 2007 graduate of Greater Nanticoke Area High School. He received an associates of plumbing, heating and HVAC degree from Luzerne County Community College in 2011. He is employed by Navient, Wilkes-Barre.
