Cassandra Rene Kaliszewski and Peter Michael Byrnes were united in marriage April 21, 2017 during a 1 p.m. outdoor ceremony at the Mayernik Center, in Avonworth Park, Pittsburgh. The double-ring ceremony was officiated by Rev. David Anderson and highlighted by a violin duet.

The bride was attended by her sister Alaena Kaliszewski McCool, Baltimore, Maryland, as maid of honor; Eva Rubinoff, Bronx, New York; Meredith Shaver, Austin, Texas; and Whitney Kerr, Scottsdale, Arizona. The best man was Nicholas Pleskach, Kingston, PA. His groomsmen were Matt McCool, brother-in-law of the groom, Craig McClintock, New York, New York; and “RJ” Robert Azain, Kingston.

The bride wore a white satin strapless A-line gown with cathedral train, empire waistline with a laced back and long sleeve sheer lace jacket. Her bouquet was a mixture of lavender, lilacs and roses. Her bridesmaids wore different shades of lilac and lavender colored sheer off one shoulder gowns and carried matching bouquets. The groom and groomsmen wore grey three-piece suits with boutonnieres and the parents wore either corsages or boutonnieres that coordinated with the bride’s flowers.

Bride and groom chose as a couple to perform a Love Letter & Wine Box ceremony. The box contains a bottle of wine, two glasses, and a love letter from each to the other. The letters describe the good qualities they find in one another, the reasons they fell in love, and their reasons for choosing to marry. The letters are sealed in individual envelopes and they have not seen what the other has written. They are to open this box to share and enjoy on their wedding anniversaries.

On the eve of the wedding, the couple and Michael and Marian Byrnes hosted a rehearsal dinner at the ‘Mallorca’ restaurant, South Side Pittsburgh. They served tapas, sangria and a full course menu of select seafood and Spanish cuisine.
