Karie Leigh Yefko and Jared William Lukowski were united in marriage on June 24, 2017, at St. Faustina’s Parish, Nanticoke, by the Rev. James Nash. A reception followed at The Manor at Whitewoods, Wapwallopen.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. David Yefko, of Plymouth, and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Sokoloski, of West Nanticoke. She is the granddaughter of Sally Humphreys, of Plymouth, and the late William Humphreys. She is also the granddaughter of the late Sylvestor and Dorothy Yefko, of Wilkes-Barre, and the late Marilyn Yefko, of Plymouth.

The groom is the son of Barbara Lukowski, of Nanticoke, and the late Edward Lukowski Sr. He is the grandson of the late Helen and Edward Lukowski, and the late Joan and William Goodman, of Nanticoke.

The bride, escorted by her father, chose Stacy Yefko as maid of honor and Larissa Dawson as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Wendy Lukowski, Amiah Lukowski, Sophia Lukowski, and Marya Baratta. Flower girls were Scarlett Lukowski and Taylin Dawson.

The groom chose Edward Lukowski Jr. as his best man. Groomsmen were Corey Dawson, John O’Malley, John Pristas, Richard Honeychurch and Edward Lukowski III. Ring Bearers were Carter Morrissey, Ty Dawson and Luke Dawson.

Scripture readings were given by Cynthia Siergiej and Staci Luksh, friends of the bride and groom.

The bride is a 2006 graduate of Greater Nanticoke Area and a 2011 graduate of Bloomsburg University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She also graduated from Bloomsburg University with a master’s degree in education and is certified as a reading specialist. She is currently employed by Greater Nanticoke Area as a fifth grade teacher.

The groom is a 2004 graduate of Greater Nanticoke Area and a 2008 graduate of Wilkes University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with a minor in physics. He also graduated from Wilkes University with a master’s degree in electrical engineering. He is currently employed by Logisys Technical Services Inc.

Following a honeymoon to Montego Bay, Jamaica, the happy couple resides in Nanticoke.
