Lael McLaughlin Hoegen and Eric Richard McGann were united in marriage on Dec. 17, 2016, in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, Villanova. The ceremony was performed by Reverend Peter M. Donohue, O.S.A., PhD. Reverend John P. Stack, O.S.A. concelebrated the nuptial Mass.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francis J. Hoegen, of Kingston. Lael is the granddaughter of the late Christine Jeffrey McLaughlin and the late Thomas V. McLaughlin, of Wilkes-Barre, and the late Peter J. and Maureen McGovern Hoegen, of Kingston Township. She is also a step-granddaughter of Nancy Hagan McLaughlin, of Plains Township.
The groom is the son of Mr. Kevin J. McGann, of Naples, Fla., and the late Stephanie McGann. Eric is the grandson of Marlene and Richard Dohr, of Naples, Fla., and Joan McGann of Hudson, Fla. He is also a grandson of the late Edward McGann.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory satin gown by Jesús Pieró and a satin trimmed Chapel length veil. The bride chose her sister, Sara Hoegen Latcham, as her matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Briana Bucci McGann, sister-in-law of the groom; Emily Austin; Catherine Butler; Kelly Mericle; Jamie Noonan Witte and Alyssa Reiff.
The groom chose his brothers Kevin M. McGann and Mark McGann, as his best men. Groomsmen were Colby Haring; David Gorenz; Jake Latcham, brother-in-law of the bride; Sagar Parikh and Stephen Siciliano.
Scriptural readings were given by Elizabeth Brennan and John K. Lisman. Brendan Gerrity, David Straple and Richard Stefany were gift bearers. Cate, Clare and Benen Griffin, cousins of the bride, served as greeters for the ceremony.
The bride and groom were honored at engagement parties at the home of the bride’s parents in Kingston, and at the father of the groom’s home in Ridgewood, N.J. The bride was honored at a bridal brunch on the porch at the Westmoreland Club, Wilkes-Barre. A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the father of the groom at the Wayne Hotel, Wayne. An evening reception featuring cocktails, dinner and dancing was held at The Racquet Club of Philadelphia.
Mrs. McGann is a 2009 graduate of Holy Redeemer High School, Wilkes-Barre, and a 2013 graduate of Villanova University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication arts. Lael is currently pursuing her Master of Business Administration from Villanova University School of Business and will graduate in May, 2018. She is currently employed as the Assistant Director of First and Second Year Initiatives at Villanova.
Mr. McGann is a 2009 graduate of Benet Academy, Lisle, Ill., and a 2013 graduate of Villanova University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accountancy and international business. Eric is a licensed certified public accountant and is currently employed as an audit senior with Deloitte in Philadelphia. The couple honeymooned at The Breakers in Palm Beach, Fla., and reside in Bryn Mawr.
