UNIONTOWN, Pa. (AP) — A former western Pennsylvania police officer must stand trial on charges he forced a woman into sexual acts three times after arresting her.

Forty-three-year-old Ryan Reese worked for the Connellsville police department in 2012, when he allegedly coerced the sexual acts after arresting a woman for selling morphine pills to a friend.

Reese has denied wrongdoing and his defense attorney said after Monday’s preliminary hearing that the woman consented to at least one of the sex acts.

But state prosecutors say the woman was forcibly assaulted because there were criminal charges hanging over her head if she didn’t comply.

Reese is already awaiting trial on charges he had sexual contact with a 16 year old girl, and faces another hearing in May on charges he forced a second woman to have sex after her drug-related arrest.
