Mr. and Mrs. Lou Tapia Jr. are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary today, March 4, 2018. They were married March 4, 1978 in the First Christian Church, Plymouth, by Rev. Robert Perry.

Attendants were Nicolette Saporito, Sherri Tapia and Joseph Letteer.

Mrs. Tapia is the former Cindy Saporito, daughter of Dorothy Carr, of Kingston, and Frank Saporito, of Swoyersville.

Mr. Tapia is the son of Helen Raitter, of Hanover Township, and the late Lou Tapia, of Hanover Township.

Mrs. Tapia is employed by the Wilkes-Barre Housing Authority as an assistant Section 8 coordinator. Mr. Tapia owns and operates Life Time Windows & Vinyl Siding, Edwardsville.

The couple has two sons, Lou, of Hampton, Va.; and Jason, of Kingston.

They have two granddaughters, Haley, 17, daughter of Lou and Anita Tapia, of Hampton, VA.; and Kaitlyn, 10, daughter of Jason Tapia, of Kingston, and Jodi Yuscavage, of Moosic.

A family party will mark the occasion. A trip to Florida and a cruise will follow.

Mrs. Tapia’s mother, Dorothy Carr, will celebrate her 80th birthday on the same day.
