The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Red Barons have a new radio home – WWDL-FM
(104.9). Beginning at the start of the 2003 season, all Red Barons games will
be broadcast on the station, which is owned by Lane Broadcasting.

WWDL-FM 104.9 replaces WICK-AM 1340/1400/1550, which previously held
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre’s broadcast rights.
The new Red Barons flagship will provide coverage throughout all of the
greater Scranton/Wilkes-Barre market. For those fans outside the coverage
area, all games will be Web-cast on www.redbarons.com.

WWDL-FM will also carry every postseason playoff game in each of the seven
years of the new agreement. Kent Westling will return for his 15th year as the
voice of the Red Barons.

In addition to the game broadcasts, WWDL-FM, along with sister stations
WICK-AM, will broadcast a daily Red Barons report from Westling.

The Red Barons open the season against Ottawa on April 3 at Lackawanna
County Stadium.

Bloomsburg coach accused

The women’s basketball coach at Bloomsburg University has accused the
school’s football coach of inappropriate conduct.

Monica Starrett told the Press Enterprise of Bloomsburg that she lodged a
complaint against Danny Hale in November, but she would not discuss the nature
of the complaint.

Officials at Bloomsburg, which competes at Division II in both sports, are
investigating the accusation.

Hale told the paper he was cooperating with an investigation, but he said
he could not comment further.

Neither immediately returned telephone messages left Friday by The
Associated Press. Athletic Director Mary Gardner said she could not discuss
the situation, and university spokesman Jim Hollister said it was university
policy not to confirm personnel investigations.

The alleged incident took place Nov. 20, and Starrett told Gardner the next
day, the Press Enterprise reported.
