Robert Rinehimer

    Robert Carlton Rinehimer Sr., 91, of Dallas, died Saturday at Wilkes-Barre
General Hospital.
   
Born March 11, 1911, in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late J. Stanley
and Leona (Biehl) Rinehimer. He graduated from Wyoming Seminary and Penn
State. He also lived in Forty Fort and Kingston. He was owner of the J.S.
Rinehimer Insurance Agency. He was a member and former president of Local
Insurance Agencies Association, Northeastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the CPCU
and was an organizer and founder of the Wilkes-Barre Junior Chamber of
Commerce, where he also served as its president. He was also a member of the
First Presbyterian Church, Wilkes-Barre; Irem Temple AAONMS and its Golf
Association; Caldwell Consistory; U.S. Golf Association; Wyoming Valley
Country Club; Franklin Club; Elks Club; and the Westmoreland Club.
   
He served as treasurer of the Wyoming Valley Chapter of the American Red
Cross, treasurer and director of the Wyoming Valley Automobile Club, former
director of Wilkes-Barre Day School and Wilkes-Barre Baseball Club. He also
served as board member of Northeastern Bank and was active with fund-raising
with the American Red Cross; the United Way, where he also served as chairman;
and with the Industrial Fund at Wilkes College. He was also a member and past
master of Masonic Lodge 395.
   
He was preceded in death by his brother, John S. Jr.
   
Surviving are his wife of 64 years, the former Dorothy Tonkin; son, Robert
Jr., Edinburg, Va.; sister, Carol Becker, Florida; and nieces and nephews.
   
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday from the Harold C. Snowdon
Funeral Home, 140 N. Main St., Shavertown, Kingston Township, with the Rev.
Dr. Robert Zanicky officiating. Interment will be private in Oak Lawn
Cemetery, Hanover Township.
   
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday.
