I see the cities and towns around Luzerne County are saying that this
winter has eaten up most of their salt supply and that they are not going to
have money to fix the roads and all come this spring. Well they say it’s been
a bad winter and they had to spend a lot of money but what about the past
three years when we didn’t have so much snow? They should have had a surplus.
What did they do with the money?
I just called to say that I think when we have heavy snows like this and
people dig themselves out and clean their snow the way they’re supposed to or
they pay to have it cleaned out, they should be allowed to put a chair or
something out in front to save their parking place, it’s no more than right.
I’m calling regarding the SAYSO with Nuangola Borough dated Tuesday,
February 18th. I am also a resident of Nuangola Borough and it’s regarding the
police chief wanting to start a taxable canine unit. First of all the
information is incorrect. And the people who found this information out
through another source ought to get their information correct because this is
not true. Also, if they get to know the chief they’d find out he’s a very good
guy and a more respected man, so get your information straight.
I was up at the VA on Valentine’s Day and I was one of the people that got
cards from the kids in school, I want to thank them and their parents that
went out to buy them stuff, and the teachers that encouraged them.
It’s odd how your paper provides coverage on this Keith Martin controversy
when the other paper says very little. I guess there is an affiliation there
somehow between the two. But I want to thank you for keeping the public
enlightened.
Editor’s note: Well, you know there is an alliance between WBRE and the
other paper.
Thank you for the wonderful article on Alice Patience in the Sunday Times
Leader. We knew Mr. Patience, Edgar was a very kind person. They were both
very pleasant people. We enjoyed their company. Thank you again for writing
the article, Bill O’Boyle.
I was wondering if we had enough snow this time for McGroarty’s $155,000
snow blower or is it still stored in the garage like it has been for the last
five years? I think it’s by the float for the Rendell Inauguration another
boondoggle like himself.
Please answer this question, does every phone call that’s called to you get
in the SAYSO?
Editor’s note: No.
We don’t even have dug out from a snowstorm and we have the media screaming
another crisis about to happen, flooding. The media especially television it
seems like you like to create crisis and create fear and panic in this
citizenry especially senior citizens. I think it is jounalistically
irresponsible on their part.
All I want to say is I don’t know why your paper would waste valuable ink
and time doing an article on that nitwit mayor over across the river there in
Wilkes-Barre running around like he’s General MacArthur returning to the
Philippines. You guys keep feeding this little egomaniac with your press and
that way he keeps acting up and doing stupid things.
