Lynn Evans, 39, of Plains Township, has announced her candidacy for
Wilkes-Barre Area School Board.
   
She is married and has three sons. She is a graduate of Coughlin High
School and a member of the EdVise Committee organized by the district to
determine the future of neighborhood schools. She advocated for maintaining
and refurbishing community schools, according to her release.
    She has been active in Parent Teacher Organizations for the past 15 years
and was a school bus driver for the Williams Bus Co. for five years. Evans has
served as a judge of elections in Plains Township, and is a member of the
Plains Community Crime Watch and Saints Peter & Paul Church. She has also
served as coach for numerous children’s sports teams.
   
If elected, Evans would focus on student safety, including transportation;
retaining neighborhood schools; and ways to increase revenues by partnering
with local businesses, according to her release.
