WILKES-BARRE – Police are still looking for a man wanted for questioning in
connection with a shooting at a home on West River Street on Sunday night.

The suspect is described as 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing 225 pounds. His
street name is “Shug.”
Police Chief Tony George said witnesses told investigating officers there
was an argument between “Shug” and the victim, Marcus White, 23, of
Philadelphia, just before White was shot in the left leg.

Jane Gaul, spokeswoman for Community Medical Center, said Monday there no
information is available about White’s condition.

During the course of the police investigation Monday, several guns were
removed from the apartment at 175 W. River St. where White was shot, said
George, who added it was too early to tell if this is a case of “a bad guy
shooting a bad guy.”

George has described several recent shootings in that way.

“It probably is, but we’re still investigating,” said George.

Anyone with information about the shooting should call the station at
826-8106.
