Misericordia plays
   
DeSales in regional
    The College Misericordia men’s basketball team will visit DeSales at
7:30 p.m. today in the first round of the Eastern College Athletic Conference
South Regional championships.
   
The Cougars (16-11) are seeded seventh while the Bulldogs are the second
seed.
   
DeSales beat Misericordia, 62-47, early in the regular season while the
Cougars won two meetings a year ago.
   
Both teams are making their second consecutive ECAC appearance.
   
The Cougars are paced by Willie Chandler’s 26.3 points and 8.9 rebounds per
game. He is the second-leading scorer in D-III history with 2,877 points.
Jason Perry is second on the team with 12.5 points and 5.4 rebounds per game.
Chandler and Perry continue to add their record of 4,495 points as the
highest-scoring teammates in D-III history.
   
In other first round games, top-seeded Franklin & Marshall will host
eighth-seeded Moravian, while third-seeded Penn State-Behrend hosts
sixth-seeded Thiel and fifth-seeded Neumann visits fourth-seeded Grove City.
   
Today’s winners will advance to the ECAC Final Four at the highest
remaining seed on Saturday and Sunday.
