NANTICOKE

Suspects sought
    in break-in, beating

Two men and a woman entered the home of an East Ridge Street man early
Tuesday, then threatened him, beat him and robbed him, police said.

Christopher Erdman said he was asleep about 1 a.m. when the suspects awoke
him up and threatened to shoot him. The suspects held what he believed to be a
handgun to the back of his head, Nanticoke police said. The suspects demanded
money, then struck Erdman in the head and punched him in the face, injuring
him.

The three ransacked his home and cut the left side of his neck with a sharp
object, possibly a knife, before leaving, police said. Police responded to the
home at 1:09 a.m. Erdman, 40, was treated at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital and
released.

Nanticoke police are investigating. Anyone with information call 735-2200,
extension 3205.
