William Nolan

    William J. Nolan, 78, died Tuesday at the Lehigh Center, Macungie.
   
Born June 18, 1924, in Old Forge, he was a son of the late William and
Edith P. Nolan. He was a graduate of Old Forge High School and earned a
bachelor of science degree in accounting from Penn State University. He was a
U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, attaining the rank of major and
serving as a pilot. He was employed as a manager by the McCrory Corp. He was a
member of St. Joseph the Worker Church, Orefield, and St. Therese’s Church,
Shavertown.
   
He was preceded in death by his brother, John; and sister, Hannah Dewees.
   
Surviving are daughters, Kathleen M. Williams, Reading; Maureen Patton,
Kennesaw, Ga.; Colleen Hay, Fogelsville; son, William F., Shavertown; seven
grandchildren; sisters, Jean Moretti, Old Forge; Rosemary Nolan, Old Forge;
and nieces and nephews.
   
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday from the Harold C. Snowdon
Funeral Home, 420 Wyoming Ave., Kingston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at
10 a.m. at St. Therese’s Church, Shavertown, with the Monsignor J. Peter
Crynes officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover
Township.
   
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday.
   
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph the Worker
Church Memorial Fund, Orefield, or to St. Ignatius Church Memorial Fund,
Sinking Spring.
