Helen Terascavage

Helen Terascavage, 92, of RR 4, Homets Ferry, died Thursday at the Skilled
Nursing Unit at Memorial Hospital, Towanda.
Born Sept. 1, 1910, in Dupont, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and
Madeline (Ruda) Tetlak. She was employed in area silk mills and operated a
farm with her husband. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church, Wyalusing, and
was a retreatant at St. Gabriel’s Monastery for many years.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, John M.; sons, Edward and
Lawrence; sisters, Lottie Glomb and Mary Meehan; and brothers, John, Frank,
Joseph and Peter.
Surviving are her son, Joseph, Homets Ferry; daughters, Josephine, Homets
Ferry; Beatrice Chamberlain, West Burlington; Theresa Fulda, Towanda; nine
grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren;
sisters, Ann Duryea, Port Richey, Fla.; Violet Olenik, Linden, N.J.; and
several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s of the
Assumption CHurch, Wyalusing, with the Rev. Kenneth Seegar, officiating.
Interment will be at the family’s convenience in Sacred Heart Cemetery,
Dupont.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at
the McHenry Funeral Home, 106 Church St., Wyalusing.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary’s Building Fund.
