Janet A. Basarab, 85, of Pheasant drive, Larksville, died Wednesday at
Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
   
Born April 6, 1917, in Plymouth, she was a daughter of the late John and
Bridget (Parulski) Rudzinski. She was a graduate of Larksville High School.
She was employed as a sewing machine operator by Fay Lee Dress Factory and was
a member of Good Shepherd Polish National Catholic Church, Plymouth.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, John; son, Joel; an infant son;
brothers, Jacky and Joe; and sister, Helen Bialogowicz.
   
Surviving are sons, John, Panama City, Fla.; David, Denver; daughter, Janet
Michaels, Edwardsville; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and
numerous nieces and nephews.
   
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday from the S.J. Grontkowski
Funeral Home, 530 W. Main St., Plymouth, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10
a.m. at Good Shepherd Polish National Catholic Church, with the Rev. Czeslaw
Kuliczkowski, officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery, West
Nanticoke.
   
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today. A prayer service will be at 6 p.m.
   
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Larksville
Volunteer Ambulance Association.
