Jack Post

    Jack E. Post Sr., of Scranton, died Friday at Community Medical Center,
Scranton.
   
Born in Scranton, he was a son of the late Robert J. and Irene (Richter)
Post Sr. He was a graduate of Scranton Central High School. He attended the
Pennsylvania Military College and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II,
serving with the Seabees in the Pacific. He served as president of R.F. Post
Inc. Trucking Co., Scranton. He served on the board of directors of the
American Trucking Association and was past president of the Pennsylvania Motor
Truck association. He was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, Scranton,
the Country Club of Scranton, the Waverly Country Club and the Clemo Hunting
and Fishing Club.
   
He was preceded in death by daughters, Laurie Post and Sarah Post Burke;
and brother, Robert J. Jr.
   
Surviving are his wife, the former Ruth Schwartz; daughter, Carrie Zang,
Cecilton, Md.; son, J. Richter Jr., Lake Winola; three grandchildren; brother,
Richard F. Jr., Scranton; and several nieces and nephews.
   
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday from the Schautz Memorial
Chapel of Covenant Presbyterian Church, 550 Madison Ave., Scranton. Interment
will be private at the family’s convenience in Abington Hills Cemetery, South
Abington Township.
   
There will be no calling hours. The family will receive friends after the
service in the Covenant Room of the church.
   
Memorial donations may be made to the Gino Merli Veterans Center Residents
Welfare Fund, Scranton.
   
Arrangements are by the Howard J. Snowdon Funeral Home, Scranton.
