WILKES-BARRE LUZERNE COUNTY COURT OF COMMON PLEAS JUDGE PETER PAUL OLSZEWSKI
JR. WILL NOT RUN A SEAT ON THE STATE’S SUPREME COURT. THE JUDGE MADE AN
ANNOUNCEMENT WEDNESDAY, WEEKS AFTER HE BEGAN CIRCULATING NOMINATING PETITIONS
FOR THE OPEN SEAT. HE HAD SAID MANY INDIVIDUALS STATEWIDE HAD ENCOURAGED HIM
TO RUN FOR THE SEAT. “I AM HONORED TO HAVE BEEN CONSIDERED AS A CANDIDATE FOR
THIS POSITION,” OLSZEWSKI SAID IN A PRESS RELEASE. “I AM ALSO MOST GRATEFUL
FOR THE OVERWHELMING ENCOURAGEMENT AND SUPPORT I RECEIVED FROM CITIZENS
THROUGHOUT ALL OF NORTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA. OLSZEWSKI SAID HE EXPECTS MORE
OPPORTUNITIES TO SEEK OFFICE AT THE STATE LEVEL.
