Philip Herbert

    Philip Herbert, 74, of Orchard Street, Larksville, died Thursday at
ManorCare Health Services, Kingston.
   
Born in Edwardsville, he was a son of the late Philip and Margaret (Wright)
Herbert. He was a 1945 graduate of Larksville High School and was a U.S. Army
veteran of the Korean War. He was employed as a surveyor for the Department of
Environmental Resources until retiring. He was a member of St. Anthony of
Padua Church and the American Legion Post 655, Larksville, the Veterans of
Foreign Wars Anthracite Post 283, Kingston.
   
Surviving are his wife of 44 years, the former Marie Gryszka; daughters,
Maggie Tugay, Hanover Township; Marie Wisniewski and Eileen Herbert, both of
Larksville; Janice Cadwalder, Kingston; seven grandchildren; brothers, George,
Larksville; Timothy, Dallas.
   
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday from the Andrew Strish Funeral
Home, 11 Wilson St., Larksville, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at
St. Anthony of Padua Church. Interment will be in the parish cemetery,
Courtdale.
   
Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday. A Christian wake service will be
Sunday evening, with the Rev. Gerald Gurka, officiating.
   
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s
Association, Wilkes-Barre or to St. Anthony of Padua Church, Larksville.
