WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes-Barre Area School District security director said
two GAR High School seventh-graders have been charged with harassment after
they allegedly threatened several other students.
Brian Lavan said the boy and girl were charged with making threats of
bodily harm against the students. He said the two students had not threatened
harm with a weapon, but their lockers and belongings were searched as a
precaution.
“We do take everything seriously,” Lavan said. He said GAR school resource
officer Kenneth Lukasavage took part in the investigation.
Lavan said the two students are receiving counseling. Harassment charges
were filed with District Justice William Amesbury in the city.
